Blockchain Lobsters has operated as a channel and subsequently as a chat-community since the summer of 2018, when the two-year bear market was in full swing. It arose after the Air Conditioner closed the CCR (CryptoCodeReviews) discussion in 2018.
Lobsters stepped in to fill the need for semi-technical and economic research questions. The name meme came from Curve deployment during DeFi summer of 2020. It's probably hard to name a community where there were the same number of DeFi and Crypto people whose names are "on everyone's lips. You can choose any popular DeFi project and search for developers in the chat room.[1]
